In 1835 a group led by Frederick Sandoz publicized the need for a home missionary society to serve the new industrial urban centres and combined with a group from the City to form the Church Pastoral Aid Society in 1836.

Frederick Sandoz was also an Auditor for the Norwich Union Reversionary Interest Company at 23 Lincoln’s Inn Fields in 1851, and on the committee for The Jubilee Memorial of the Religious Tract Society in 1849,
