Noel James Pratt 1913 - 1998
October 18, 2009
Noel came from a long line of clergy and his family eventually settled in Norfolk. When he was a student at the outbreak of war he was sent to the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital for casualty duties.
There he met Marjorie Grace Blackie and a young house surgeon who became his wife. Both in their way influenced him and started a fascination for homeopathy.
He enlisted in the Royal Air Force in 1942, serving as a squadron leader in Burma, Bengal, and Ceylon.
The practice he entered in 1947 had a long established interest in homeopathy, and he did weekly sessions at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital.
Noel loved Norfolk and Norwich and was a friend of the cathedral and the museum. A man of deep religious conviction, he was modest and very precise. His wife, Maureen, predeceased him, and he leaves two daughters and five grandsons.
Pratt’s Obituary is in the British Medical Journal 1999 March 27; 318(7187): 878,
